A contract includes the fixed and variable costs associated with the client R&D processes. Fixed costs cover equipment, personnel, software, and facilities. Variable costs are consumables. 

It depends on the client's needs and the specifics of the project. Shared lab contracts can be less than a year for simple projects. Dedicated labs generally require a multi-year commitment.

It means that an entire lab is dedicated to your project. Its people and equipment are reserved for your project so that your project does not have to wait in line. The virtual lab plan allows you to purchase access to a fraction of a lab.
